“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

-Frances Hodgson Burnett The Secret Garden

Our story

Our stories both began in rural northern Alberta. In our farming community, gardens are a part of everyone’s story. Jamie’s grandparents had over a thousand hills of potatoes for their family! My family raised cattle and everyone dug in and helped to make hay while the sun shone.

When we purchased our property in Parkland County the first thing we added to it was a garden. Jamie and I both love growing vegetables and having fresh food at our finger tips. All of the effort and long hours after our day jobs has been worth it.

In the winter of 2023 I came across the book “The Secret Garden”. I had read it as a child and was so excited to reunite with the story. It inspired many conversations at the dinner table about expanding our garden to include more flowers, and I eventually won Jamie over. One day he came home from work and said, “why don’t we try flower farming?“

We researched, ordered seeds and growing supplies and put the new endeavour into motion. The fresh garden spot was so inspiring and full of possibilities. I love that inspiration is all around us and we hope in some way our flowers can inspire you.

"Magic is always pushing and drawing and making things out of nothing.”
